Rummaging, Panicking, and Then… an Idea Was Born

Although Raya belum habis lagi (like I mentioned in my last post), the Haji vibes are definitely in the air. It reminds me so much of my Umrah trip last year — and actually, even further back — of my own Hajj experience when I was just 9 years old.

Yes, you heard that right. Nine!

Not Umrah, but Hajj.

You may call me Hajjah Areejah — I accept with full heart. 🤣

Of course, masa umur 9 tu, I was way too young to be thinking about telekung, socks, jubah, or travel mats. Everything was handled for me. I just followed wherever I was ushered to, with my little sling bag and endless curiosity.

Fast forward to last year — doing Umrah again, this time as a grown-up, and with my own family.

We had a week-long transit in Istanbul right before Umrah — and I must admit, that wore me out!

But the determination to complete our Umrah was strong, alhamdulillah.


That was also the moment reality hit: I was NOT fully prepared.

Baru nak susun all my doa lists, the solat sunats, all the little reminders of what to do, how to optimise my Umrah.

Rummaging through my luggage (which was campur-campur — thanks to Istanbul’s winter layers), trying to fish out my Umrah essentials: telekung, socks, jubah, travel prayer mat, small sling bags, and everything else I might need for umrah and ziarah.

Then double-checking, triple-checking — takut ada yang tertinggal.

It was stressful, to be honest.

And I thought, “Kalau aku rasa macam ni, mesti ramai orang lain pun sama.”

That’s when the idea was born:

When we got back home, I was determined to make everyone else’s journey smoother.

Looking back, I feel so grateful that my small struggles became the seed for something meaningful — something to ease the journey for others.
